Logistics Control Panels

The airport wanted to upgrade their baggage handling line. This involved replacing the entire control system to make it future ready. With IOT 4.0, maintainability, future scalability and cost all in mind, the airport decided to use AS-i control interface. The main advantage was the savings and simplicity of using 1 single wire to carry power and signal to all the different equipment.

Red Vector worked together with Beumer Group and Pepperl+Fuchs to mass produce 20 over variants, totalling 800+ control boxes for the airport. These included functionalities for diverter units, image quality testing and drive control. Red Vector assembled the control panels and programmed them to interface with the main controller.

Using quality parts from Schneider and Pepperl+Fuchs, Red Vector met tight production schedules. Despite having high mix/high production and high mix/low production control panels, all panels were delivered on schedule. Last minute modifications by the customer were also accommodated.
